Swaminarayan Gopinathji Dev Mandir, Gadhada

The Swaminarayan Mandir at Gadhad is also known as Gopinathji Dev mandir and is one of the six temples built by the denomination’s founder Swaminarayan. This was quite a special visit. See below.

These are the wooden sandals worn by Lord Swaminarayan that are carefully kept in a locket display cabinet. There are 17 symbols on the cabinet and these correspond to the 17 symbols the feet of Lord Swaminarayan.

Not far from the mandir at Gadhada is Laxmi Vare (farm). This is the place where Lord Swaminarayan was cremated.

Not far from the Mandir is the Ghela River where Lord Swaminarayan would bath every morning accompanied by Sadhus and devotees.
