Tirth Yatra

Tirth is a Sanskrit word that means “crossing place or ford”, and more particularly refers to pilgrim sites and holy places in Hinduism, Buddhism and Jainism. Yatra is also Sanskrit meaning ‘journey or procession’, but more generally is a pilgrimage to holy places. Visiting sacred places is believed to purify the self and bring one closer to the divine. The tirth yatra took place from 16 to 29 September 2024.

The pilgrim places are listed according to the main town or city we stayed in. Some of the places we visited were of more historic than spiritual significance. None were to be missed. The pilgrim places, with links, were: Delhi, Vrindavan, Agra/Lucknow, Ayodhya, Chhapaiya, Prayagraj and Varanasi.

It was a privialage to join the Tirth Yatra.

A bit thank you to all those that took part and welcomed me. Pictured at the Taj Mahal in Agra
