Have Some Faith in Play

Have Some Faith in Play was a project of the St John’s Wood Adventure Playground that was run in partnership with Salusbury World that worked with children of refugee and asylum seeking backgrounds. Funding for the project was provided by the Home Office, the Big Lottery Fund and the Department for Communities and Local Government (as it was called then).

Of course the playground wanted everyone to have some faith in play but the project aimed support children’s knowledge and understanding of other religions and respect for their adherents.

The project took children to the neighbourhood’s faith centres where they were met by each religion’s clerics and educators.

Not exactly in the neighbourhood it was nevertheless very nice to visit Bhaktivedanta Manor near Watford
Nearer the neighbourhood, children visited the ISKCON London Radha-Krishna Temple in Central London

While the visits were exceptional, the Playground was also pleased to reciprocate the hospitality and host the neighbourhood’s clergy.
